We have to move on as Talladega  is over but once again the inconsistency of Nascar infuriates the fans; no wonder people think the races are fixed by Nascar! They should have thrown the red flag with four laps remaining instead of dragging around two more laps. No idea why they didn't except Gordy was leading, Jr third I think. I firmly believe this was why fans were angry Sunday NOT that Gordon was ahead and won or broke any record.

Saturday night in the Busch race they threw the red flag with six laps remaining. They cleaned the track and went racing. This gives more than one or two a chance to win . Green white checker is an improvement but it sure stacks the cards against the rest of the field.

The first barrage of cans in 2004 were definately a big help to racing. Fans were furious because Nascar drug around the track SIX laps under caution for Gordon to win! Jr was half way around him when the caution came out. Jr still says he was ripped off. Guess what-- a couple of months later Nascar announced the green, white checker policy.

No one wants to get hit with a beer can but if Nascar would play fair or consistently apply their own rules maybe this wouldn't happen.
It isn't just Jr fans throwing things (if they are) see what Kurt Busch says. Say what?

"I've been working on my fan base for years, and I probably won't have any after this comment, but it's very disappointing to see race fans throw Miller Lite beer cans all over the racetrack. It's very unfortunate."

Come on Nascar get a rule book and apply all rules and penalties CONSISTENTLY AND FAIRLY and not look for excuses to be lenient with the Hendrick bunch.

Most other sports have local fans supporting their team but Nascar racing is different. Fans come from all over the country and spend well over a thousand dollars on any race, Nascar needs us; we love racing but we should have our voices heard!

My two cents, Mary Lou

Nascar, are you listening YET
